Sunday Gamer is.... well... Me. I created Sunday Gamer because I felt card and dice-based games had moved toward an elite-based group of "hardcore" gamers. I want to bring to gamers games that can be picked up and played with ease. I want to make games that appeal to the n00b and the hardcore gamer alike. Each of my games is a study in current gaming trends. Through them, I attempt to distill into a nice package what makes great games great. I cannot stress how much I want these to be accessible games that even non-gamers can pick up and play.
Example:
I played a game of Magic: The Gathering with a friend one night. Both of our significant others were present...I felt the libido drain from the room as those cards were pulled out. Having not played Magic in years, I realized that I would need to drop loads of money into new cards if I had any hope of being competitive. That moment I had with myself struck me deeply. I wanted to create games that people could pick up and play with only a minimal look at the rules. I wanted to create games that were a complete package...no scrounging for pennies to use as counters-- no bringing said pennies (and dollars) to a gaming store to purchase better cards to tweak a deck. I wanted something with a mutual pool that could be played by anyone out of the box, giving players an equal footing (save for luck of the draw). So, I began creating Sunday War...This is the game that is going to come down the line after Sunday Commissioner due to the artwork and production time that comes with making game cards. But the art is officially coming and it's going to be sick.
HEY!!! I HOPE YOU'RE STILL WITH ME AFTER THAT TIRADE. CHECK BACK SOON FOR AWESOME SHOTS OF THE SUNDAY GAMER FACILITIES! (Yes, you will get to see my basement and garage...HOW EXCITING!!!)
